This year, our 8th grade class will have the opportunity to visit our Nation's Capital, Washington, DC as well as participate in our traditional celebratory trip to Six Flags Great Adventure.

$65 / per student
($35 for students with season / pass or membership)

Online registration is required in order to participate in either/both trips. You will also be required to provide further information at a later date as we prepare for our trips.

Please understand, while our trip to Washington, DC enhances our 8th grade Humanities curriculum, neither the Washington, DC trip nor the annual trip to Six Flags Great Adventure is supported in anyway by district funds. The total cost to parents for BOTH trips will be $415.

You will have the option to select one or both trips as part of this registration process and you will be presented a payment schedule to assist you in making payments over time.

The administration at Carusi Middle School understands that some families, due to financial hardship, may be unable to afford the full cost of the trips. Financial assistance may be available to reduce the cost of the trip for students who qualify. Should you need to request assistance, please complete the request form as part of this online registration process.

8th Grade Trip Informational Presentation

Washington, D.C. Overnight Trip Information

Monday, June 3 to Tuesday, June 4, 2019

  • $350 / per student

This educational trip will be in addition to the traditional 8th grade trip to Great Adventure on June 13, 2019. Carusi staff will accompany your children to Washington D.C. and will chaperone them through the many stops.

The following is pertinent information regarding this trip:

  • The total cost of the trip will be $350 (please make checks payable to Carusi Middle School). This includes travel, hotel, dinner cruise, evening security at the hotel, breakfast buffet, tour guides, two (2) t-shirts and dinner on the way home.

  • Required paperwork is to be submitted using our electronic process. You may click here to access our registration system. If you need assistance with the form, please contact the Main Office at (856) 667-1220.

  • Payment is to be paid in three (3) payments on the following dates:
    • November 30, 2018 or ASAP -- $120
    • Friday, January 18, 2019 -- $115
    • Monday, March 4, 2019 -- $115

  • Money will be collected on the above dates by your child’s advisory teacher
    • Payment in full will be accepted on any of the payment dates.

  • A tentative itinerary is posted below for your general overview. It is still subject to change.

  • A mandatory parent meeting has been scheduled on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria to review final trip details, and discuss the procedures for the morning of the trip.
  • If you are interested in chaperoning the trip, please indicate your interest on the online registration form.

  • Financial assistance may be available. Please submit financial assistance requests during the online registration process.
  • Students may be excluded from this trip due to behavioral issues in school.

Six Flags Great Adventure Day Trip Information

  • $65 / per student ($35 w/ Season Pass or Membership)

The cost of the trip includes transportation, park admission with unlimited rides and a private “all-you-care-to-eat” buffet.

Any student with a Great Adventure Season Pass or Membership is responsible for bringing their season pass or membership card with them the day of the trip. Students without their season pass / membership card will be responsible for all additional costs should they need an admission ticket the day of the trip.

There is NO discount for students who have a dining plan, as the lunch is a private catered event just for 8th Grade students from Cherry Hill attending our trip. Students cannot “opt-out” of the lunch. Students will be required to check-in with a supervisor just outside the park’s catering area entrance at a designated time to receive a single entry pass to the lunch. Students may enjoy as much lunch as they would like, but will not be able to re-enter the catering area once they exit. If your child has any dietary restrictions, please contact Mrs. Michele Taylor, RN at 856-667-1220 ext. 3561 prior to Friday, May 24, 2019 so that appropriate accommodations can be made.

Casual attire is appropriate and bare feet are not permitted. A commemorative class shirt will be given to each student and must be worn the day of the trip unaltered. Since this is a school trip ALL SCHOOL RULES WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR THE DURATION OF THE TRIP. School representatives will be present during the trip and available to assist students. There are lockers, for an additional fee, throughout the park should a student choose to go on a ride that prohibits carry-on items. In addition, students must comply with all park rules which are enforced by park security and the Jackson, New Jersey police department.

On the day of the trip, students are to arrive at school at the regular time (8:00am) for homeroom and will be called to their assigned bus when it arrives. Buses will depart from Great Adventure at 5:30pm. Every student is expected to ride the bus to and from the park. Students should not plan to use the school phone to call for a ride. Parents/Guardians must arrange for their child’s transportation home from Carusi at approximately 6:30pm.

It is important to remember that this trip is only for Carusi 8th Grade Students. Students who choose not to participate will be expected to be at school and will be supervised as a regular school day.
